For the first time in many years, the average life expectancy in the USA could go down because of obesity, with people dying from heart disease, diabetes and kidney failure, all of which are related to being overweight.
According to Chinese medicine, all these afflictions share a common cause. The Law of Five Elements tells us that diabetes, kidney failure, excess weight and certain kinds of heart disease are all symptoms of an imbalance called “Excessive Water.”
“Excessive Water” is most often the result of excess weight. Once the Water element becomes excessive, it overworks the heart, overloads the kidneys, and predisposes for diabetes. Excess weight therefore plays an important role in these life-threatening diseases.
